The FIM holds a number of great special events each season, many of them fundraisers, others are free to the community. We hope you join us. February 11 | Thursday | 7:30 PM | At the FIM MacArthur Recital Hall
GREAT DAY! A dramatic look at the people and events that lead to the Emancipation Proclamation portrayed through music, dance and narration. Enjoy this truly uplifting performance that culminates in the shout of "Freedom!" that is heard by slaves across the nation. GREAT DAY! features the talents of Sylvia Pottman, Artistic Director and FSPA Voice Department Chair, Creative Expressions Dance Studio and the Flint Jubilee Chorale. Reception follows.
February 12 | Friday| 6:00 to 7:15 PM | At the FIM Atrium
FAMILY DINNER $15 per Child (12 and under), $25 per Adults. Enjoy a family-friendly dinner catered by Sandi's Elegant Cathering. Includes reserved seating for that evening’s performance of Great Day! Tickets are required in advance.
7:30 PM | At the FIM MacArthur Recital Hall
GREAT DAY! (Limited seating for this performance! Those attending the family dinner receive priority seating.) Reception follows.
February 13 | Saturday | 7:00 PM | Trinity United Presbyterian, Flint
GREAT DAY! This final performance of GREAT DAY! ends the three day series that celebrates the Emancipation Proclamation.
February 19 | Friday | 1:00 PM | At the FIM
STUDENT INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP with FSO soloist Isaac Grier. Baritone soloist Isaac Grier will meet with students in an up-close and personal presentation.
February 20 • Saturday | 5:00 to 6:30 PM | In the FIM Atrium
BLACK CLASSICAL MUSIC FAMILY FESTIVAL GALA DINNER - SCHOLARSHIP FUNDRAISER - Join your friends at this elegant black-tie optional dinner. The Festival strives to inspire the younger generation and broaden the horizons of individuals through classical music. The efforts of the Black Classical Music Family Festival and the Flint Institute of Music share the vision of commonality and diversity by bringing families, communities and cultures together. Dinner catered by Sandi’s Elegant Catering.

Dinner and reception for season ticket holders is $50.
A portion of the proceeds go toward the BCMFF Scholarship Fund. No refunds available. Unused tickets may be returned for a tax credit.
