The Flint Festival Chorus is a dynamic, 75 member volunteer chorus under the direction of Bradley Bloom. The Chorus
presents several performances of major choral works each season.
Upcoming Appearances:
Flint Festival Chorus Concert
Friday, February 8, 2008, 7:30 pm
At First Presbyterian Church in Flint map
Schubert’s Mass in G
Benjamin Britten’s St. Nicolas Cantata
The former is well known to many audiences and very tuneful, as is the case with much of Schubert’s music.
The Britten piece is a beautiful and dramatic work about the saint that we have come to know as
Saint Nick. The cantata outlines his rise to and reasons for sainthood and includes all kinds of colorful
and musical effects. Audience participation on a couple of hymns and the story of a miraculous return
of three deceased children mark some of the composition’s highlights.
