Music and dance for all ages and abilities

violin-girlThe Flint School of Performing Arts (FSPA), with more than 3,500 students, is the largest community school of the arts in Michigan, and one of the eight largest in the US. In our state-of-the-art facility students of all ages, from infants to senior citizens, discover an amazing world of music and dance.

A caring faculty of more than 65 degreed artist/teachers guide and provide fun and challenging opportunities in music and dance, as well as preschool, ensemble and outreach programs, for beginners to advanced students from 21 counties across Eastern Michigan.

The FSPA has fostered a life-long love and enjoyment of the arts for thousands of its students, some even going on to professional careers in orchestras and dance companies throughout the world like the New York Philharmonic, Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Atlanta Symphony, and Dayton Ballet. Truly a place for everyone, the FSPA offers a variety of tuition free programs, as well as tuition assistance.

The Flint School of Performing Arts uses a ground breaking research-based teaching approach. Click here for more information about Beyond Boundaries.

What our students and parents have to say...

Thank you so much for connecting me with Andrea (Floden). She is an inspiration and an honor to know. The first time that I played a song from beginning to end with chords, I began to cry. I’m never going to be a great pianist. I almost 60-years-old for heaven sakes. But I can sit at the piano, look at the notes and I can do something with them! Thank you Andrea! - FSPA Student

My daughter showed a skill level and interest in flute at an early age. She has excelled in every class she’s been in. I don’t have the musical background to help her develop those skills, I only know that she reached a plateau last year that seemed to threaten to discourage her from continuing. As a disabled father with limited resources, I am especially grateful for the opportunities FIM has presented. The tuition grant made it possible to finally get her the level of instruction she needs and the staff of FIM have been a blessing to us. Thank you for all you do with prayers the grants will be enough to keep her there. - FSPA Parent

Our daughter Mara dances professionally in Dayton, Ohio and has been enabled to “Pursue her passion.” (Quote from Davin Torre.) FIM has provided my daughter with the passion and the expertise/encouragement from Mrs. Jennings and her superb teachers. FIM is now responsible for our next generation of dancers. BRAVO! - FSPA Grandparent

I am very satisfied with FIM. My time and resources are well spent. I came to FIM after having taken voice at another music conservatory for almost three years. What initially strikes me about FIM is the friendliness of the staff – from security guards to office people to instructors. My voice teacher is Nada Radkovich. I am extremely well pleased with her knowledge of vocal instruction, her method of instruction and her enthusiasm for instruction. I believe I have grown and developed rapidly with her guidance. I know I have quite a ways to go yet, but it is so enjoyable on the journey. Keep on doin’ it. - FSPA Student
