Patron Blog entry 10.16.09 It goes without saying that ANGEL IN THE NIGHT is truly an artistically gifted, educational production! It is thought provoking, interesting and relevant. The play is like a history lesson in poetic motion. In addition to the remarkable play, I was enthralled by the "talk back" conversation. -Regan Guevara

Patron Blog entry 7.31.09THANK YOU to everyone at FYT for another outstanding, uniquely creative performance!! "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" is great family entertainment and another one of FYT's FIRST CLASS productions. My family and I agreed that the FYT performers make this American classic story come alive as Mark Twain narrates it in his own dialect, the costumes, the stage presence ,and very talented cast. It was so much FUN, as we laughed and smiled throughout the entire play! - Rosanne M. Berry
Patron Blog entry 7.25.09Dear FYT: Thank you for this glorious experience. One of my dearest friends knew that I was attending a performance at Bower on Saturday evening but did not know what, so he asked on Sunday when we were talking together. When I replied that I had seen a performance of Tom Sawyer, he paused too long before saying, "Isn't that a children's story?" I had to laugh, but it occurred to me that that is perhaps the impression of many people who have read this marvelous book in their childhood or in high school as a required reading or even in college in an American literature class. The truthful answer would have to be that it actually is a story suitable for children and adolescents and adults because it is the story of a young boy and his escapades with his friends. There is mystery, and love and suspense with the crowning glory of this young man's telling the truth at a time when it could have been fatal for him to do so.
All of this is enacted on the Bower stage which within seconds is magically transformed into Tom's bedroom, a schoolroom, the local church, Mark Twain's study, the front yard of Tom's home, a dark cave, a courtroom, etc. The joyous surprise of the evening is the entrance of Mark Twain who not only narrates the story but frequently philosophizes and shares his wisdom about life. He is joined by a cast of nearly forty players who soon have you caught up in the affairs of a young boy, his friends and the goings on in St. Petersburg, Missouri.
If you read this story as a child or in high school or in college or if you have not ever read it, it is time to renew or make the acquaintance of Tom and his friends and come away with a light heart and a joyous feeling as you have lived the experiences through the masterful acting abilities of these talented players. Do not miss this opportunity to share this beloved story with your own children and family or as a treat for yourself. You will still be smiling days later. -Jane B. Trotter
