Sylvia Pittman, Chair

sylvia-pittman(ext. 254), Voice, Early Childhood Music, Voice Department Chair, Flint Festival Youth Chorus Director: B.M.E.D. (education), Northern Michigan University; M.M. (performance), University of Michigan. More than 18 years experience teaching private voice, public school and directing choirs. Performs vocal styles from jazz to opera. Works as a vocal coach for recording artists and is greatly sought as a studio musician.

 
James Cech
James-Cech(no ext.) James moved to the Flint area in 2008, after three years of performing and touring with CaliforniaThe Young Americans. Since moving to Flint, he has been involved in numerous community theater productions including: "Shakespeare in the Park," Flint City Theater, and guest appearances with The Flint Youth Ballet. He started teaching Show Choir with Pam Kimber at a summer camp in 2009. He'll graduate from Baker College of Auburn Hills inJune of 2010, with a degree in American Sign Language Interpretation.
 
Glen L. Holcomb
glen-holcomb(ext. 134) Voice, Early Childhood Music, FSPA Saturday School Coordinator: M.M. (vocal performance) and M.A. (american culture studies), Bowling Green State University; B.M. (vocal performance and general history), Marygrove College. He is the recipient of numerous awards in vocal competition throughout his academic career. Performed with Michigan Opera Theatre, Detroit Symphony, Grand Rapids Symphony, Brazeal Dennard Chorale, Hostia and the Flint Jubilee Singers. He regularly performs a variety of recitals in Metro Detroit and Flint. Member, National Association of Teachers of Singing. Performing member, St. Cecilia Society.
 
Pamela Kimber
(ext. 248) Show Choir, Create-A-Musical, Director: B. A. (education-fine arts) Michigan State University. 30 years of teaching experience in public schools in Michigan, California, and Australia. Dance teacher/choreographer for various ensembles including the Flint Neithercut Honors Choir. Music director of Atherton United Methodist Church. Choir director for community and church groups such as the “Show Tune Choir” from Hope UMC. Member of the Kearsley Park Players.
 
Nada Radakovich
(ext. 251), voice; M.A. in Opera Performance and B.M. in Vocal Performance, University of Michigan School of Music. Ms. Radakovich earned her living as a professional singer for 25 years in both the United States and Europe. She is co-author of the book, "Auditioning in the 21st Century". Nada completed two National Tours with Columbia Artists' Community Concerts series. A first prize winner of the International Mozart competition, Ms. Radakovich had the honor of studying with world renowned soprano, Elizabeth Schwarzkopf. She has had an extensive singing career, performing on stage, radio and television. Her coaching and teaching experience includes instruction at the Interlochen Center for the Arts, The Pingry School in Martinsville, NJ; the JCC's of Tenafly, Tarrytown and Nyack. Guest Lecturer-Master Classes at Mannes School of Music, New York, NY; Iona College, New Rochelle, NY; Altes Schloss, Grevenbroiche, Germany.
 
Pia Broden Williams
Pia-Broden-Williams(ext. 258), Voice; M.M., Michigan State University (performance); B.M., University of Michigan (vocal performance); B.A., University of Michigan (philosophy). Over nearly a decade, Pia has taught general music, voice class, and choir, K-12, in Flint and Mt. Morris, also serving as musician and choir director at area churches. She is a seasoned vocalist, performing classical, theatre, and jazz. An active performer, Pia appears regularly on stage and in concert halls both as a soloist and ensemble member. She is equally comfortable in classical, theatre, and jazz styles. She has performed with a variety of organizations including the Michigan Opera Theatre, and the Flint Symphony Orchestra, and has often been a featured soloist at the Detroit/Montreaux and Syracuse Jazz Festivals. Currently, she holds the position of Director of Music at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Flint.
